Election Roundup

Byron York says that according to the exit polls democratic voters don't care about terrorism when they vote.

David Frum says that Kerry's success in winning 1/3 of South Carolina democrats makes him "reckoned close to unstoppable among Democrats nationwide". He also calls the belief that Kerry is the most electable candidate the "Winfield Scott falacy".

John Hood says despite the fact that the media wants to portray this race as interesting so you'll continue to watch, "isn't all this just a prelude to John Kerry's inevitable nomination, his inevitable call to Edwards for vice president, and Edwards's inevitable "yes" despite many previous refusals to consider the idea?"

Michael Graham says that despite this "assumption most observers are making is the one that's filling my e-mail inbox: "Edwards isn't running for president. He's running for vice president. He just wants to pull enough votes, particularly in the south, to make the case that he 'balances the ticket' as a southerner." that Edwards will not make the South competitive to democrats: "There is no southerner who can make a far-Left liberal like John Kerry competitive in the south; and even if there were such a southerner, a one-term senator who couldn't hold his own seat isn't that guy. " The guy is Gephart, who can win union voters in rust belt states.

Bruce Stockler
says, among other comments, that "Senator Kerry alarmingly resembles Frankenstein's monster".
