I second this sentiment
Cliff May makes a good point:
It’s 3 PM on November 2, 2004. There has not been a terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11/01.I don't think anyone, in the aftermath of 9/11, would have dared to speculate that we would have made it this long without a terrorist attack.
If Osama bin Laden could have attacked us over the past three years, he would have.
If OBL could attack us today, he would.
Whoever is responsible for keeping the barbarians outside the gates deserves praise – and re-election.
