Bush is saying the US will wait to see if Syria follows the Security Council resolution telling it to withdrawl from Lebanon.

It wouldn't suprise me to see our troops in Syria in the near future. There are certain factors, of course. Will Syria follow in the footsteps of madman, Saddam Husein? Or will they take serious not of the example that the US made of him, and choose a wiser course? When dealing with fanatics, predictions are shaky at best
That's a very good point. If Syria gets sane, we won't invade. However, they could continue to be stupid, and that would lead to Gulf War III... I hope invasion doesn't become necessary, but obviously we can't allow our enemies to continue to promote terrorism, especially in such an important place as Iraq and the Middle East, which are teetering between civilization and the abyss.
