This whole mess just goes to propagate the liberal mentality that it is up to the federal governmnet to take care of EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. I think I can remember some public service announcements on the radio by the dep. of homeland security telling folks that they should prepare THEMSELVES in case of a terrorist attack, or natural disaster. I seem to recall the suggestion to put together a 72 hour emergency kit, which would include such things as dried food, drinking water, space blankets candles, etc.
Imagine how the current horror might have been averted had even half of those people had such preparations.
